What can I put in my garden bin?

Things you can put in your brown wheeled bin or biodegradable sack:

  • flowers and plants
  • grass cuttings
  • leaves and bark
  • prunings
  • hedge trimmings
  • small branches (maximum 10cm)

Please make sure you can close the lid of your brown wheeled bin, or contain the above items in a biodegradable sack.

Things you cannot put in your brown wheeled bin or biodegradable sack:

  • plastic or pottery plant pots
  • soil, mud or rubble
  • animal droppings or bedding
  • food waste
  • nappies
  • anything in plastic bags
  • compostable packaging eg wrapping from newspaper or magazine
