BEIS may contact you directly for research purposes.

This scheme only applies to businesses in England that have been legally required by Government to close nationally since 23 March 2020 i.e. nightclubs, dance halls or adult entertainment venues. The scheme runs until April 2021, with a review point in January 2021.

No application is necessary as the Council will contact eligible businesses

Businesses on the ratings list for Exeter that have been subject to national closures since 23 March 2020 will receive:

  • For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or less, a grant of £667 will be paid per 14-day period of closures
  • For properties with a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000, a grant of £1,000 will be paid per 14-day period of closures
  • For properties with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above, a  grant of £1,500 will be paid per 14-day period of closures

This grant scheme came into effect from 1 November 2020. Closure periods for these businesses will run from this date and will not be back-dated further. So the first 14-day period begins 1 November 2020 and grant funding will be provided in 14-day tranches from this date

If a nightclub, dance hall or adult entertainment venue has repurposed as a bar, which has then been mandated to close under Tier 2 or Tier 3 local restrictions, they are eligible for (LRSG) – Closed subject to meeting all eligibility criteria for that scheme. The business would no longer qualify for (LRSG) -Sector as it has changed its primary purpose.
