Leasehold disposal of land at Heavitree Park

A new community centre and café

Exeter City Council is considering the leasehold disposal of 2020 sq. m (0.5 acres) of land at Heavitree Park, Whipton Lane to Park Life Heavitree to enable Park Life to build a new community centre and café.

Planned changes

Provisional terms are agreed for the grant of a 50 year lease of the land outlined red on the attached plans. Park Life are to be responsible for the construction and maintenance and repairs of the new building.

The rent payable would be a peppercorn as the toilets in this facility are to be open for use by the general public as well as customers of the facility.

Park Life have already been granted planning permission for this project, detailed drawings of the proposed building can be viewed online: reference 18/0519/FUL

The BMX dirt jumps which currently occupy this site are to be relocated within Heavitree Park as part of this project. Park Life are carrying out the local consultation for the relocation of the BMX dirt jumps.
