David started his career as a local authority trainee, working his way through a part time HNC before completing his degree in Civil Engineering. David is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and a Fellow of the Institute of Highway Engineers. Prior to joining Exeter, David previously worked for the Environment Agency, private consultancy, water companies and other local authorities in the Engineering, environmental and service sectors.

David’s role as one of our Directors is extremely diverse; having responsibilities ranging from many of the front line services which keep the City looking good, through to car parking, waterways, engineering, Environmental Health and Community Safety.

In his spare time David enjoys the outdoors with walking and kayaking on his list of favourite things to do.
