The Business Administration Level 2 Apprentice will provide administrative support to the busy Corn Exchange team within the Council. Duties will include:-

• Dealing with customers over the telephone and in person relating to issues including ticket sales, venue hire, marketing and event based enquiries

• Contributing to planning of social media campaigns, providing suggestions and ideas for maximising use of social media. This will involve updating the Corn Exchange social media  pages on a daily basis.

• Reviewing and helping to maintain the content of event and marketing information on various IT systems

• Reviewing and helping to maintain the content of Exeter Corn Exchange pages of City Council’s website using a content management system

• Assisting in the administration of venue hires

• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety and equality legislation, relevant codes of practice and Council Policies

• Proof reading publications, e-newsletters, press releases and website content produced by the Markets & Halls Unit 

• Collating information from box office system to produce seasonal sales information 

Entry requirements

Minimum of 3 GCSE’s or equivalent (this includes A-C in Maths, IT and English)           

Skills Required

  • IT literate eg Word & Excel & Outlook
  • Good keyboard skills
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Working in an office environment

  • Commitment, reliability, flexibility and organised
  • Confident and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work under pressure and with an interest in office procedures
  • Able to work as part of a team or under own initiative

Qualifications taken

  • Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship with one day a week college training and on the job assessments and observations.
  • NVQ in Business Administration
  • Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities - embedded within L2 Certificate in Principles of Business & Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths/English/IT if applicable

What Next?

Upon satisfactory completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship programme, further progression onto the Level 3 programme will be subject to funding and availability of positions.
