If you have a positive ‘can do’ approach with an ability to adapt to a fast changing environment and workload priorities, come and join our collection team. As a Collection Officer, you will be responsible for collecting Housing Benefit Overpayments.
This job requires someone approachable with empathy and patience, who shows initiative and stays calm under pressure. In this role you will regularly monitor outstanding accounts and escalate recovery action where appropriate. You will be pro-active in contacting debtors, using all methods, to agree affordable arrangements to repay their Housing Benefit overpayment debts.
A good level of computer literacy and technical ability is required as well as excellent communication and organisational skills.
This is a demanding and challenging role, so the need to work flexibly, collaboratively and under pressure, whilst delivering results on time, are a must.
Experience in a collection role is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given to applicants who can demonstrate strong customer focus with a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
We encourage professional development, so if you are looking for a challenging new role, and have the right skills and experience, please apply to join us.
