Summary

Exeter is a flourishing, dynamic and historically significant city set in the beautiful county of Devon. The city is home to a magnificent cathedral; the award winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum; and the high-performing University of Exeter. The city is large enough to host a thriving shopping, sporting and cultural scene while at the same time small enough to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with an excellent quality of life.

Exeter City Council lies at the heart of the city: we provide a range of key services for local citizens and promote the economic prosperity of the whole area.

Our Housing Service manages and maintains around 5,000 tenancies and almost 1,000 leasehold properties in Exeter. We provide a first-rate range of services to around one tenth of the population of the city.

The Asset Management Team repairs and improves our properties in line with our overall aims of being an efficient, high performing and socially progressive landlord.

Vacancies have arisen in our Asset Management Team for:

  • Planned Repairs Lead
  • Reactive Repairs Lead
  • Works Surveyors - we have a number of vacancies we are looking to fill for this role

Planned Repairs Lead

Salary: £32,486 - £35,444 (grade re-evaluation pending)

Playing the leading, managing role in an enthusiastic and dynamic team, you will be responsible for delivering a planned maintenance programme across our property portfolio and for implementing the Council’s strategic approach to housing asset management in partnership with the Reactive Repairs Lead.

You will deliver numerous projects on time and within budget. You will achieve results that are successful and high value. You will use your project management skills and experience both to manage contracts and to provide excellent customer service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, ‘can-do’, self-starter who is keen to help ensure our housing stock is fit for the 21st century and who wants to make a real difference to people’s lives.

If you would like to have an informal chat to see if this is the right role for you, then please contact Lawrence Blake on 01392 265691.
