A small city that packs a big punch, Exeter is one of the most vibrant, attractive and historically interesting cities in England.   Our population growth is the fastest in the country and our economic growth has reached transformational levels.

The Council is supporting this transformation, building the first PassivHaus Leisure Complex in the Country and a new bus station as part of a wider regeneration scheme in the City Centre.  We are also working with Exeter City Futures towards energy independence for the city and to be congestion free by 2025.  The Council also owns a Housing Development Company delivering PassivHaus standard mixed tenure homes and is developing a major plan for investment in new Council houses within the Housing Revenue Account.

The Finance team at the Council provides financial support and advice to not only the City Council but to three Companies (either part or fully owned by the Council).  As a result of the increased workload, a number of new posts have been created and we are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified accountant for the following role.
