Household Support Fund

1. Exeter Household Support Fund extension

The government has made money available to local councils to help our residents with the increased cost of living. Working in partnership with Devon County Council we are directing this support to those that may be finding it most difficult to manage higher bills.

People of pensionable age are less likely to seek help and support, and so we will make direct contact with those struggling financially; using Council Tax Support data we already hold.

During June 2022 letters will be sent to those eligible households in receipt of pension age Council Tax Support, outlining a one-off support payment. More information on this support can be found in the scheme framework.

If you have received one of these letters and want to confirm it is genuine, here is a copy of the letter.

We do not need you to contact us or provide any personal or financial information to receive this payment.

Once this money has been distributed we are intending to offer a further scheme for other struggling households later in the year. More information on how this general hardship fund will operate will be available nearer to the time.

You can see how Devon County Council are using the Household Support Fund extension on their website. There are also details of other support available to help with cost of living pressures
