Our leisure centres

1. Overview

Exeter City Council agreed in July 2020 to bring all of our leisure centres back under the direct management of the council from 1 September 2020, rather than continuing to outsource to a private company.

Current memberships were frozen during lockdown. We opened these up again on 1 September but we are not charging existing members anything until at least 1 January 2021.

Current members can pre-book to use our leisure centres again as we begin to reopen them, absolutely free of charge for the remainder of the year.

We are now offering new leisure memberships at the special rate of £15 per calendar month. If you are interested in becoming a member please follow the online booking link below.

We know some members are experiencing difficulties trying to log into their account or to make a booking.
We have set up a dedicated helpline to assist you - 01392 265388.
The helpline is open from 11am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 11am to 2pm at weekends.
Thank you for your patience, we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Current members of our leisure centres can now book a session online.

New members: you will need to Sign Up for a new membership, to complete the process please select your Leisure Centre and then 'Exeter Leisure Flexi'.

Following guidance provided by the Government we are busy on site putting into place the necessary measures to ensure that when we open the leisure centres it is safe to do so. The health and safety of staff and customers is our top priority.

Current members will be able to use the facilities free of charge until 31 December 2020.

All activities must be pre-booked in advance through our on-line booking system: this will be available from 12 October 2020.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer bookings for these Pay as You Go sessions at the moment due to COVID-19 restrictions. You can still enter your name and email address if you’d like to receive updates on our services. We’ll let you know when we are able to offer Pay As You Go sessions again in our leisure centres and any offers we have coming up.

There will be no cash payments on site.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the centres, to do so safely please ensure that you:

  • Observe the social distancing signs and instructions at all times

  • Follow the one-way systems and signs in each facility

  • Use the personal anti-bacterial wipes you are issued with on arrival to clean down surfaces and equipment that you use

  • Pre-book your sessions in advance and arrive promptly for your booked session

  • Come ready to exercise and remember that showers and changing facilities will not be in use for the time being

  • Take care of yourself and others by following the new centre rules

We have had to make some changes to our original opening plans with the Wonford Sports Centre and Northbrook Swimming Pool, which were due to open on 5 October, now planned to open on 12 October at the same time as the Pyramids Swimming Pool and Riverside Leisure Centre (dry-side) reopen.

The ISCA Centre opened as planned on Monday, 28 September for current members who want to play indoor bowls or use the fitness suite.   Our new on-line booking system was meant to be operational from Tuesday, 29 September for customers to book on line but, due to set up glitches we are sorry that this has not been possible.  So as not to disappoint customers, we are accepting advanced telephone bookings for the ISCA as a temporary measure for the time being. See centre section for details.
