2. Apply for a licence to keep a pet shop

If you want to run a pet shop you will need to apply for a licence. You can do this online.

Please be aware that the legislation is very specific in stating that all pet shop licences must expire on the 31 December each year.  This applies to the year they are issued and every following year they are renewed.  This means that regardless of what time of the year your licence is first issued, it will expire on the 31 December.

You will also need to pay the vet's fee for inspecting the premises.  We will ask you to pay this after the inspection has taken place.

You'll be charged a fee of £210.00 for this application with an annual fee of £210.00. Please make sure you view our fees and charges for further information.
