2. Apply for a family entertainment centre permit

If you want to run a family entertainment centre or amusement arcade with unlimited category D gaming machines you'll need to apply for a permit. 

You'll need to complete an application form and send this to us or deliver your application to our offices

You'll need to give:

  • your details
  • details of the premises
  • a declaration that you occupy or propose to occupy the premises and are over 18
  • a plan of the premises

Payments

You'll be charged a fee of £330.00 for this application. Please make sure you view our fees and charges for further information.

When we receive your application we'll check it to make sure it's been completed correctly. We'll telephone you if there is anything else

As soon as we have the complete application and all the information we need, we'll accept it.  We will then consult with the police and they will have the opportunity to make a representation.  

If the police don't make a representation your application will be granted and we'll send you your permit in the post.  

If a representation is received then a hearing must be heard before members of the licensing sub-committee unless all parties agree this isn't necessary.

After the hearing we'll write to you with the decision.
