Northbrook Approach is an important part of the network of green spaces in Exeter; not only is it a 'green corridor' along Northbrook stream but it also connects Ludwell and Riverside Valley Parks.
The golf course closed in October 2019 and we now want your views on the future of the area. Exeter City Council and Devon Wildlife Trust have presented a joint vision for Northbrook Approach as a wild arboretum and community space, a crucial link between the city’s largest Valley Parks, for wildlife and for people.
Exeter City Council owns and manages Northbrook Approach, and Devon Wildlife Trust looks after Exeter’s six Valley Parks public greenspaces.
We want your views!
This consultation begins with talking to local people about the future of Northbrook Approach. First, we want to know what you think about our proposed vision. In addition, we want to hear your ideas so that everyone can shape the future of this special site. We are doing this consultation online, starting with this survey, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The vision for wildlife and people includes wildflower meadows, tree planting, new orchards, and a re-naturalised Northbrook stream (or ‘Panny’). There will be improved access between and within greenspaces along with a learning and activities hub. You can even have the chance to volunteer to help develop and manage the area.
Please note: This consultation has now closed.
