3. Sidwell Street market

This open air market is located in Sidwell Street between Paris Street and Cheeke Street.  Licences are granted for periods of 4 weeks, 13 weeks, 26 weeks and 52 weeks. Traders erect and provide their own stalls, which are approved by the council and there are specific insurance requirements.  There is no electricity.

Please note, we are unable to accept applications from catering vans or fast food lines although we do have a limited number of pitches available for unusual street food.

If you are interested in trading at the Sidwell Street Market please complete the Sidwell Street Market Application Form and return it to us as an attachment on our Contact Us form.

Sidwell Street licence fees

Fees for licences to trade on Sidwell Street pitches are revised annually on 1st April each year. The fees are detailed here.

If you want to trade at this market you must have Public Liability Insurance cover to a value of £5 million, which must be kept up to date.  You are also advised to have Product Liability Insurance, Employer Liability Insurance (if you employ anyone) and insurance cover for theft.  This is readily obtainable at a reasonable cost and we give you names of several companies who provide this and other business insurance cover.
