Our priority aims
Getting people active
Being active in everyday life brings wider benefits to individuals and improved health and wellbeing. We would like to support local projects that make it easier for people to be more active.
This could include things like walking, dance and running groups. Or exercise groups for mums, children’s activity sessions and opportunities for families to be active together.
For example, funding might be made available to support ideas such as “Walk and Talk”, made possible by training a team to deliver Walk and Talk sessions for carers with young children. Funding might support training sessions and teas & coffees after a walk.
Improving health and wellbeing
We would like to hear about your ideas for projects. To meet funding criteria, they should be based on encouraging people to take part in community activities, make new connections and be more active. Funding could be made available to support ideas such as:
- health and wellbeing events or workshops
- taster sessions for people to try new activities, meet new people and make some changes that can improve their wellbeing
Supporting people working together to address local needs
We would like to support activities with residents and groups at the heart of them; building healthier, happier and more active lives together. We want to support community groups across the town to address the issues that matter to them.
