More than 450 people have given their view on the future of Exeter’s South Street by completing surveys online and at a public consultation event.
The results of the consultation will now be carefully analysed and a report will be drawn up for councillors.
Around 360 people completed the South Street survey online.
And more than 100 survey forms were filled in at the consultation event held at the Corn Exchange on January 25. Around 300 people attended the event.
An initial study of the survey results reveals:
* The importance of cultural activity for the area
* Calls to improve the appearance of shopfronts
* A desire to support independent businesses
* The need for better links to the Quay
The City Council is holding the consultation to explore the potential for future investment in South Street.
The council is working with local businesses, residents and the wider public to explore all the options.
