If you want to undertake works to a tree which has a preservation order on it you will need to complete and submit an application form which is available on the planning applications pages.

If you want to cut down, top or lop a tree in a conservation area, whether or not it is covered by a tree preservation order, you have to give us 6 weeks notice of the proposed works.  This covers all trees that have a diameter of 7.5 cm diameter or more, measured at 1.5 m above ground level.

Notice can be given by submitting an application form.
