11. Residential Design Guide SPD
The Residential Design Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted by our Executive on 28 September 2010. The SPD provides detailed guidance in support of policies in the adopted Exeter Local Plan First Review and Proposed Submission Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD). The SPD is designed to provide information to all those involved in the development process about the standard of design that we require for new residential development proposals. It is based on the premise that good quality sustainable residential design is beneficial to developers, residents and the community as a whole.
The Residential Design Supplementary Planning Document has been short listed for the Urban Design Group Public Sector Award 2012 (for more information visit the Urban Design Group website). The short presentation below summarises the SPD and how it has been implemented since 2010 (an audio version of this presentation is available upon request - contact firstname.lastname@example.org)
