5. Testing and safety

Never worry about pressing the pendant or Alarm unit by accident.

We would rather know that you are OK, We will be pleased to hear from you and will log the call as a test showing that your equipment is working properly. If you do press the button by mistake please wait for the call to connect to the monitoring centre and please answer us.

It is important for all service users to test their Alarm unit and Pendant regularly. A monthly test for example is quick and easy to perform. Simply press the red button on your pendant and you will hear a few beeps. Once the operator has answered tell them you are carrying out a test call. If the battery signal from your pendant is low, the alarm will still be activated and we will arrange for one of our representatives to visit you to replace the battery.

Please wear your pendant at all times when at home, except when you are in bed; keep it within easy reach and put it on before you get up. The pendant is waterproof (to IP67 standard) up to 1m so it can be worn in the shower, We don’t recommend using them in the bath so just pop it somewhere dry and close to hand in case you need assistance.

If there is a change to any of the information we hold on you e.g. keyholders, GP details, a change in medical information, keysafe number etc. please let us know immediately.
