11. Level 2 award in principles of risk assessment
The principles of risk assessment course is designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and safety by enabling learners to understand the basic principles of risk assessment. The course is aimed at anyone in a working environment as not all employees are expected to undertake risk assessments themselves but they maybe asked to contribute. All employees are also expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner to protect their own health and safety and that of others.
Duration: 1 day course
Schedule: 9:30am to 4:00pm (lunch is not provided)
Exam: Written paper
Venue: Civic Centre, Paris Street
Topics covered include:
- health and safety in the workplace
- principles of risk assessment
The course ends with a short multiple-choice test where candidates will need to achieve 20 correct answers from the 30 questions to receive the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health level 2 award in principles of risk assessment certificate.
An oral option is available for those who require this. Please state at the time of booking whether an oral examination is required. In the event that we are unable to provide this on the course day, you may be asked to return for the examination at a later date.
All candidates must bring photographic proof of identification on the day of the course to meet the examination board's requirements. Candidates that do not bring photographic identification will not be able to take the course.
