Service Unit:Environmental Health and Community Safety
Full time: Permanent, 37 per week
The main function of Environmental Health and Licensing is to provide a safe, healthy and attractive environment for all those who live, work or visit the City of Exeter.
We are seeking to appoint a new Environmental Protection Officer to work as part of a small specialist team dealing with domestic and commercial pest control as well as monitoring and enforcement duties primarily relating to problems associated with licensing, abandoned vehicles, trade waste and anti-social behaviour.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person to deliver a commercial and domestic pest control service and assist with day-to-day compliance checks, monitoring and response to complaints.
The successful candidate must have up to date qualifications in pest control and ideally have previous experience of Environmental Health or other associated regulatory functions.
The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritise, plan and manage their time effectively, demonstrating the ability to meet demanding deadlines. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and orally to a range of audiences including the public.
The role will require monthly out of hours and weekend working and applicants must be committed to that level of flexibility.
