At Exeter City Council we pride ourselves on our ambitious vision for the city and are looking to recruit an enthusiastic professional to help us make this vision a reality.

Liveable Exeter is Exeter City Council’s transformational housing delivery and place making programme – seeking to deliver up to 12,000 new homes on urban brownfield sites within the city over the course of the next 20 years – and the Council is working hard to turn this vision in to near-term reality.

We are now seeking to recruit a highly experienced and motivated Senior Programme Manager to work as part of the Liveable Exeter programme team. Reporting to the Programme Director, you will bring a wealth of practical project management experience gained from working in a built environment specialism and have a demonstrable track-record of the successful delivery of complex and innovative projects. You will be responsible for taking the day to day lead on some of the Liveable Exeter projects, driving progress and working with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners in order to help realise the Liveable Exeter vision. You will be responsible for the direct line management for other members of staff within the Liveable Exeter team and have the opportunity to work with a wide range of colleagues within the Council, and partner organisations, in order to help bring the Liveable Exeter vision to life.

In addition, we offer;

  • Flexible Working Hours Scheme - providing staff with a positive work life balance
  • Home working opportunities - depending on the needs of the service
  • Generous annual leave entitlement increasing after 5 & 10 years of continuous Local Government service
  • Generous employer contributed Pension Scheme and optional ‘Additional Voluntary Contribution’ scheme
  • Active & Green travel initiatives including; 40% rail & bus subsidy for public transport to and from work & salary sacrifice Cycle to work scheme.
  • Professional and personal development opportunities
  • A 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme

If you think that you have the skills and enthusiasm to help us deliver our vision, we would like to hear from you.

Further information about the role and responsibilities are contained within the Person Specification and Job Description. If there are any aspects of the role which you would like to discuss, please contact Richard Marsh, Liveable Exeter Programme Director, on 07545 851649.

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 23 June 2021. Interviews are expected to take place in person, but this will be kept under review in line with any relevant covid-19 guidance in place at that time.
