Energy efficiency

1. Energy efficiency help

Home energy efficiency can save you money, help improve your living conditions and reduce your impact on the environment.

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme aimed at reducing carbon emissions and tackling fuel poverty.

In order to target ECO funding to the most vulnerable households local authorities have flexibility to prioritise certain households in their area.

The priority groups are outlined in our Statement of Intent. Those that are eligible can access fully funded or subsidised energy saving measures in their homes.

There are a number of installers delivering energy saving measures across the city.

The installers work within the city to market grant availability to properties and only, indirectly, residents. The installing company will undertake an initial survey on your property to confirm what measures are needed. They will ask you to complete and sign a Household Declaration Form which is returned to the council to authorise.

Please note that Exeter City Council do not recommend or endorse a specific company.
