Guide to Setting up a Residents’ Association

Show all parts of this guide

6. Fundraising

You may wish to raise money for the association to cover the costs of marketing and publicity, venue hire for meetings, running events, and administration of the association.

Funds can be raised by organizing your own events and, once you have a constitution and a bank account, applying for grants from outside organisations.

Exeter City Council may have funding available for residents’ associations through their grants programme

Exeter Connect is an organisation that can provide advice and support you in making a successful grant application. They can help to ensure that you have the policies you need and evidence to support your application, as well as helping new groups to become constituted. They are also able to hold small funds for one off projects or new groups who do not have their own bank account.
