Our leisure centres

1. Overview

Exeter City Council agreed in July 2020 to bring all of our leisure centres back under the direct management of the council from 1 September 2020, rather than continuing to outsource to a private company.

Current memberships were frozen during lockdown. We opened these up again on 1 September but we are not charging existing members anything until at least 1 January 2021.

Current members can pre-book to use our leisure centres again as we begin to reopen them, absolutely free of charge for the remainder of the year. Information about new memberships at reduced rates will be available shortly.

Using Government guidance we are in the process of assessing how to safely reopen facilities, and it will take time and planning to put the necessary measures in place to ensure that when people do return, they are able to safely enjoy them.

The health and safety of staff and customers is the top priority.

Our current plan is to reopen our centres on the following dates, provided that the necessary COVID security measures are complete:

28 September 2020
ISCA Centre
Exeter Arena

5 October 2020
Wonford Sports Centre
Northbrook Swimming Pool

12 October 2020
Pyramids Swimming Pool
Riverside (dry-side)

More details of which facilities will be available in each centre can be found on the centre’s page, through the links above.
