7. Local Notices to Mariners

Exe powerboat and ski club annual rallies

Number 09/19  Date: 19 December 2019

Notice is given that on 26/12/2019 and on 01/01/2020 the Exe powerboat and ski club will be holding their annual rallies.

Both events will take place between number 13 buoy and a mark between number 1 and 2 buoy, from 10:00 – 15:00. Marshal boats will mark the course, and advise other mariners who are not involved in these events.

During the event, the safety officer of the Exe powerboat and ski club as well as all marshal boats will be on VHF channel 06.

During the rally participants will be given dispensation from bylaw 4. Before and after the event anyone deemed to be breaking any bylaws of the River Exe may be prosecuted by Exeter Port Authority.

All vessels are advised to navigate with caution and to follow IRPCS.

During the rough weather last night the safe water mark broke free and will be off station until the weather improves to be replaced.

No.1 Starboard Marker & No.2 Port Marker in the Exmouth Approaches have been returned to their original positions.

No.1 Starboard Marker & No.2 Port Marker in Exmouth Approaches moved during rough weather

Number 05/19  Date: 28 October 2019

Notice is given that No.1 Starboard Marker & No.2 Port Marker in the Exmouth Approaches have moved during rough weather.

No. 1 has moved in a North Easterly direction approximately 2 cables.

No. 2 was last seen in position 50o 35.620N 003o 22.100W and drifting South.

Subject to weather, these Buoys will be returned to their original position as soon as weather allows.

Dredging around number 21 buoy

Number 04/19  Date: 15 October 2019

All mariners are advised that on the Wednesday 16th October 2019, the vessel "Teign C" will be dredging around number 21 buoy.

Vessels are advised to keep their distance from the "Teign C" and to navigate with caution at all times.

This notice will be self-cancelling following completion of the dredging.

No.12 Port Marker has moved position

Number 03/19  Date: 13 May 2019

Notice is given that No.12 Port Marker has been moved to deeper water in the channel.

The new position is 50.36.930 003.25.337.

 


 

Bridge works at Kings Arms Lock, Exeter

Number 02/19  Date: 12 Apr 2019

Notice is given that work to install a new bridge at the Kings Arms Lock on Exeter Ship Canal will continue until 25th June 2019.

Vessels will not be able to navigate through the lock during these works. Vessels will still be able to enter or exit the Exeter Ship Canal at Turf Lock and also passage to or from the Canal Basin, Exeter.
