What consultation has taken place?

We consulted with potential users of all facilities in the leisure complex, including those with disabilities, very early in the design process and we have continued to do so.

Whilst the views of the Exeter Swimming Club have been raised, our own research and feedback indicates that these views are not representative of a much wider range of users. We continue to liaise with the club. Prior to the November/December 2015 public exhibition, aside from development principles in the masterplan, there was no detail available for consultation.

Will local communities benefit from the development?

The Council is committed to ensuring that local communities benefit from development. We have given our full backing and financial support to the Exeter Community Forum (see www.exetercommunityforum.net) which is in the process of drawing up a community strategy for the city.

This will inform how the monies raised through the levy on developers will be spent in communities. This money is known as the 'neighbourhood portion of the Community Infrastructure Levy'.
