The emerging Exeter Plan
The Exeter Plan will shape the future of Exeter for the next 20 years, to 2040, and will be the basis for how the city continues to evolve and meet the needs of the community. The Exeter Plan is the new name for the Local Plan. It will be the main planning document for Exeter, setting out where development should take place and providing the policies which will be used in making decisions on planning applications.
We have prepared an Outline Draft Exeter Plan. This was consulted on between 26 September 2022 and 19 December 2022. The consultation has now closed.
The Outline Draft, along with up to date evidence, can be viewed online or downloaded as a pdf document.
Officers from the Council have spoken to more than 1,000 people at the 15 face to face roadshow events, in addition to taking the Plan to young people, community groups and city stakeholders.
The Local Plans team will now begin the process of collating and analysing almost 4,000 contributions from residents, businesses and organisations across the city.
A document summarising responses will be available in early 2023.
A further public consultation, on the final draft Exeter Plan, will take place next year.
