The Local Authority is responsible for the naming and numbering of properties.
The allocation and maintenance of Postcodes is the responsibility of Royal Mail.
If a property has not been officially registered it may not appear on address databases.
All addresses must comply with our Street Naming and Numbering policy.
There is no charge for this service.

You will need to tell us your contact information, the approximate address details of the property you wish to officially register and must provide a location plan.
When your application is received we will liaise with Royal Mail to set up the property address. Once Royal Mail confirms the address has been added to PAF (Postal Address File), the address details will be forwarded to all internal departments and Land Registry.
