5. Pension

All employees are entitled to join the local government pension scheme (LGPS)  administered by Peninsula Pensions. Employee contributions are based upon a table of pay bandings and range between 5.5% and 7.5% of pensionable pay in addition to which the council pays employer contributions.

As well as a pension upon retirement, the pension scheme provides for a number of benefits including a tax free death in service benefit of 3 times pensionable salary and dependents pensions in the event of the death of the pensions member.
