General Election 2024
There will be a general election on Thursday 4 July 2024
You need to be registered in order to vote The deadline to register is Tuesday, 18 June 2024.
If you wish to vote by post at this election you can apply for a postal vote. The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday, 19 June 2024
If you are unable to go the polling station yourself but do not wish to vote by post, you can apply for a proxy . A proxy is someone who can go to your polling station to vote on your behalf. The deadline for new proxy applications is 5pm on Wednesday, 26 June 2024
Don't forget that you need to take photographic ID with you to the polling station or you will not be given a ballot paper. Find out about which forms of ID are acceptable. You can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate if you do not have suitable ID.
If you are voting in person at a polling station your poll card will tell you which polling station you have been assigned to. You can also check the polling station finder.
The Exeter Parliamentary Constituency comprises of all wards of the City except for Pinhoe, St. Loye’s and Topsham wards, which are part of the Exmouth and Exeter East Constituency. However, applications for all wards relating to registering to vote, postal or proxy voting and Voter Authority Certificates are administered by the Electoral Registration Officer at Exeter City Council.
