James Prescott

James Prescott, BEng (Hons) MSc CEng MICE is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 25 years’ experience in the engineering industry, specialising in port engineering and coastal protection. He possesses a deep understanding of marine civil engineering, port operations and the management of harbours and marine assets, as well as coastal, river, and estuarine processes.

As a resident of Exeter, James enjoys spending time with his family sailing, paddleboarding, cycling, and walking along the River Exe and Exeter Canal.  He is passionate about protecting and enhancing the wonderful environment we have in Exeter and the Exe Estuary.

James is aware of the challenges in balancing the, sometimes conflicting, interests of local residents, commerce, and the marine and coastal environment. He is keen to support Exeter Harbour Board with his professional expertise to help achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for the Port of Exeter and all waterways users.
