Herbicides

Weeds growing in pavement

We are committed to gradually reducing glyphosate.

Some of the ways we are starting to do this are:

  • Using alternative methods of weed control, e.g. a weed ripper machine and 2 deep clean teams city wide
  • Reducing the amount of sprays to treat Japanese Knotweed from 2 sprays a year to 1
  • We have stopped spraying ‘drip lines’ (grass underneath trees)
  • We continue to trial alternatives and work with industry experts to reduce use wherever practicable

We have seen a consistent reduction in Glyphosate use over previous years.
