About the Exeter Port Authority
Covering the Exe Estuary and approaches, our role is to help ensure marine operations and activities within the Harbour are undertaken in a safe and reasonable manner.
Our main duties include:

Building strong relationships with user groups and other stakeholders by providing a reassuring presence on the water

To enforce bye-laws, with a particular focus on speeding vessels

To record details of accidents or near miss incidents for Harbour Master to investigate
-
To monitor and report on the provision and maintenance of aids to navigation

To understand and practice counter pollution (and similar emergency) plans and procedures
-
To assist in ensuring the Council meets all relevant environmental obligations.
Exeter Canal and Quay team are responsible for the Exeter Canal and Quay.
