4. Exeter Employment Land Review (2009)
The Exeter Employment Land Review (2009) was carried out to support the existing adopted Local Plan. New evidence is being prepared to support the emerging Exeter Plan. The most up to date evidence can be viewed on our Evidence base for emerging Exeter Plan.
This provided an evidence base that will be used to inform the preparation of employment land policies and allocations in the Local Development Framework (LDF). The ELR is needed to support efforts by us, through the planning system, to:
- ensure that sites and buildings that are important to the future prosperity of the city are retained in employment use
- to enable the release of sites that could sensibly be used for other purposes.
The review has been produced in accordance with the Government's Guidance Note: Employment Land Reviews (December 2004). It has been prepared with the assistance of a consultation group. The group was drawn from the local business community and from the South West Regional Development Agency (RDA). It has taken into account the views expressed by stakeholders through consultation.
