2. Food waste caddies

If you live in a house (and you are now on a food waste round)

Your property will have been provided the following containers:

  • 1 x 23 litre kerbside food caddy
  • 1 x 5 litre grey kitchen caddy

You can line the grey kitchen caddy with any bag and use it to store your food waste until it is full. Alternatively you can use newspaper as a liner instead.

When your kitchen caddy is full, you should transfer the contents, including the liner, into your kerbside caddy.

Place your kerbside caddy out at your usual bin collection point on your designated food waste collection day.

Please don't place the grey kitchen caddy out for collection, we will only collect food waste from the kerbside caddy.

If you live in a flat with communal bins (and you are now on a food waste round)

You will have been provided with the following containers:

  • 2-3 x 140 litre wheeled communal food waste bins to your bin store
  • 1 x 5 litre grey kitchen caddy to your individual property

You can line the grey kitchen caddy with any bag and use it to store your food waste until it is full. Alternatively you can use newspaper as a liner instead.

When your kitchen caddy is full, you should transfer the contents, including the liner, into the wheeled communal food waste bin in your bin store.

Please don't place the grey kitchen caddy out for collection, we will only collect food waste from the communal bin
