2. Apply for a dog day care or boarding licence

You can apply for a new animal boarding establishment licence or renew an existing licence online using this form.

Fees

The Animal licensing fees for dog boarding or day care for 1 and 2 star licence are:

  • Part A £535.00
  • Part B £220.00
  • plus additional £3.70 per dog in excess of 10 dogs and £4.70 per dog in excess of 20 dogs per application/establishment

The Animal licensing fees for dog boarding or day care for 3, 4 and 5 star licence are:

  • Part A £535.00
  • Part B £220.00
  • plus additional £3.70 per dog in excess of 10 dogs and £4.70 per dog in excess of 20 dogs per application/establishment

Payments

The licensing team will call you to arrange payment once you have submitted your application.

You'll need a credit or debit card to pay via the phone when the licensing team call you.

You'll need to attach a current certificate of insurance for the business

You'll need to attach a plan of the premises showing the layout and all structures

Following your application we will arrange for a vet to inspect the premises.

The vet will send us their report and the licence will then either be granted and we'll send you your licence in the post, or it may be refused, or have additional conditions added to it.

If your application is likely to be refused, or have additional conditions added we will contact you.
