2. Bindu Arjoon - Chief Executive

Bindu Arjoon

Bindu's academic background is in Economics with a special interest in Development Economics, with a BA (Hons) in Economics and an MSc in Development Studies.

Completing a PGCE at London University, Bindu's career began in Further Education, working at City of Westminster College for 2 years as a Co-ordinating Lecturer in Economics and Business Studies and teaching on a range of vocational and academic programmes and professional qualifications.

Having been in Local Government leadership for 18 years, Bindu has led various services including Business Transformation through service review and redesign, ICT, Human Resources, Corporate Planning, Strategic Partnerships, Crime Reduction and Community Involvement. Bindu is a member of the Local Government Association’s Peer Review programme.

With an Institute of Leadership & Management Level 7 Award in Executive Coaching and Mentoring, Bindu has worked with colleagues in public services as well as the private sector to add support in realizing their leadership potential. She is part of the University of Exeter’s Mentoring scheme as well as the District Council Network’s Mentoring Programme.

Retaining her passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential,  Bindu is currently Vice Chair of the Corporation of Exeter College and Chair of the  Quality & Standards Committee.

Bindu lives in Exeter with her husband with their son reading Maths at Bristol University, having attended the Exeter Mathematics School.
