5. When elections are due

Local Government (Exeter City Council) elections

The next elections for Exeter City Councillors will take place on Thursday 4 May 2023. Each elected Councillor is appointed for a four year term, with a third of the 39 seats contested each year (one seat per ward).

Local Government (Devon County Council) elections

Devon County Council elections are held on a four year cycle on the first Thursday in May and the next is due on 1 May 2025.

Parliamentary (General) elections

The next Parliamentary general election can be expected to take place in 2024.

Police & Crime Commissioners elections

The next election for the Police & Crime Commissioner for the Devon and Cornwall area will be due on Thursday, 2 May 2024.
