6. Employee welfare
We operate a pre-employment health assessment process aimed at establishing whether prospective employees are fit and capable of the proposed employment. Primarily we will consider all reasonable adjustments to support prospective employees and existing employees to gain and retain employment with us.
We wish to ensure that our workforce is reflective of the community we serve, and are committed to the disability symbol and mindful employer commitments in supporting individuals with disabilities and affected by mental health.
We provide all employees with access to up to 8 free confidential counselling sessions through Devon County Council's wellbeing at work service.
A no smoking policy operates in all our premises and vehicles.
We have good relations with our recognised unions (UNISON, Unite the Union and UCATT) and we support the principles of union membership.
