1. Booking playing fields

We provide football and rugby facilities for more than 250 sports associations and individual clubs every winter. Summer sports include cricket, baseball, rugby league and sports skills coaching.

During the Season

Many of the city's pitches are licensed to local clubs and leagues for the football and rugby seasons. Licences include allocated use of pitches, changing facilities and a sports attendant. Further information on football and rugby leagues and clubs can be found on the Devon and Exeter Football League, Devon Football Association and Exeter Saracens Rugby Club websites.

Licensees will have use of marked pitches with goals, however netting and corner flags will not be provided. Licence applications should be sent a minimum of eight weeks before the start of the season. Full licences are for home games every week of the season. Half licences allow for alternating home and away games.

Teams or clubs interested in licensed use of a pitch should consider contacting the league they are intending to play in first. Preference is given to existing licence holders ahead of new applicants, but all applications are considered.

Groups or clubs can book single games, depending on availability.

For bookings or further information, please contact us online (select "Parks and open spaces").

In the Off Season

Groups or clubs interested in holding a football, rugby, or other sports tournament, during the summer should contact Parks & Open Spaces.
